RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement inspection procedures for incoming materials and components.
  • Evaluate and approve incoming material quality based on established standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve material quality.
  • Maintain records of inspections, test results, and supplier performance.
  • Monitor and inspect in-process manufacturing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify and address quality issues during the production process.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve in-process quality issues.
  • Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality protocols.
  • Lead the implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Work towards achieving a Scrap Rate (SPR) greater than 95% on both Battery and Vehicle production lines.
  • Oversee final product inspections before delivery to customers.
  • Ensure that all finished products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Manage the resolution of any final product quality issues before shipment.
  • Document and report final inspection results and quality metrics.
  • Implement measures to capture defects at the incoming stage to prevent line disruptions.
  • Proactively work to reduce field issues and scrap costs by implementing checkpoints based on manufacturing and field issues.
  • Develop and maintain a skill matrix associated with the role to ensure effective performance.
  • Possess expertise in Fit & Finish, IPQC, PFMEA, FMEA, Internal Auditing, PPAP, Problem Solving Analysis, 8D Analysis, 7 QC Tools, and Statistical Process Control.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, including the ability to direct and interact effectively with people.
  • Foster a positive work environment, resolve conflicts, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Uphold standards, manage tasks effectively, and pursue goals with a focus on producing quality output.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Proven track record of managing incoming quality, in-process quality, and final quality control.
  • 10-15 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the automotive or electric vehicle manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in quality control tools and techniques (e.g., SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis).
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in quality management systems (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is desirable.
